I went with the beautiful Continental; what a styling treat after the prior 3 years. Ford is second by a hair over Mercury but I like them both very much. I find the Lincoln to be somewhat hard to judge against the other two because it is more of a luxury class car.
I went with the Merc slightly over the Ford because I like the tail lights a bit better. The Lincoln is a classic however.

Oh, that Lincoln. Just perfect out of the box, and still an icon.
Ford second.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
The Ford please John. For style the Lincoln next and for once, the Mercury last.
They are not in the same class. The Lincoln comes first, followed by the Mercury and then the Ford.
Oh boy, the MERCURY all the way. Wasn't a Ford fan for '61 even a little bit and the Lincoln, for me the less said about it, the better. Let's just say, I'll walk right past them every time.

LOL, always interesting to see ho vastly we can differ in our likes.

The Lincoln was an absolute game-changer. It was all smooth, elegant, understated, sheer luxury. It spoke of a new age of Camelot and of presidents who didn't wear hats and played football on the White House lawn. It represented a new era and a new perspective in car design with sharp fenders, smooth sides, and a deftly refined grille, not to mention an immediately recognizable cowl and windshield. The convertible came with daringly suave multiple doors, and the top disappeared into the trunk with an elegance the retractables could never achieve. Its design language served up echoes in the Imperials and eventually even the Cadillacs. For the designers at Lincoln, it was a make-or-break moment. Thye shot for the moon and hit the stars!

How right you are, and they not supposed to be. Select them in the order you prefer.

Tie Ford & Mercury, Lincoln last, never cared for luxury cars. '61 my favorite year for both the Ford & Mercury, Lincoln would be the 1956 Premiere or the 1970 Mark III.
What beautiful, clean-lined cars ! They all look great and along with the Comet/Falcon series and new mid-size Fairlane, were part of Ford's recovery from the earlier unfortunate Edsel miss-step.
The Continental is by far the top of the three. The other two are interchangeable, I'd be happy with either parked next to the Lincoln.
