68 all day, everyday.  I owned one back in 72 and wished I’d been able to hold onto it after two rear end collisions.

Couldn't type 1968 fast enough.  The Charger was not a nice looking car for '66 and really went south for '71.

1968 all the way.

Without question. One of America's most beautiful cars.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

The gorgeous '68 is a runaway winner over the beautiful '66.  The '68-'69 era was the pinacle for Charger IMHO.....downhill after that.

In 1970 drove a friend's brothers 1968 Charger R/T, 426 Hemi, 2x 4bbl with Hurst pistol grip 4-speed, metallic blue with black vinyl roof.  It was the fastest and coolest car I have ever driven and I have been in love with this car ever since.

wow I made it 15 out of 15 for the 68. I know I'll probably ruffle a few feathers here but to me the 66, is just plain awful. Terrible balance with so much design bulk in the rear of the car.

I'm going to be the oddball here.  The 66/67 are my favorites and I keep looking for a 1:1 at a reasonable price.  Then I am going with the 71.  Liked the long nose, even though they were not as fast, I just liked the look.  68 is my least favorite out of the 68-70 chargers.

Geoff;  Interesting that you see the roofline as bulky.  I recall the first time I saw this car and that feature (and the cool interior) was what I found most appealing and still do.  I would call the original Rambler Marlin roofline somewhat bulky and slightly hunchbacked IMO, but not the Charger.  We're all different.....makes our hobby more interesting.

I'm a fan of the first-gen Charger as well. Those four bucket seats got me, and the fastback was radical for its day.

'68 my choice and I have owned a '66, a '68 and a '69. The perfect '66 would be a Charnet [66 Coronet convertible with the'66 Charger front end and interior or the best of both worlds], I don't care for the fastback look. And my favorite wish car the'68 Charger with the '70 Charger "SE" interior and the 440x6 drive train.

66 67 Charnet (1)
66 67 Charnet (2)

Charnet

68 Charger RT with 70 SE interior (1)
68 Charger RT with 70 SE interior (4)

'68-'70

66 & 68 Charger

My '66 & '68

8 69 Charger

A perfect twin to my '69 don't have any pics of mine.

I'm with TerrySlekar!  But in those years I was driving a Mercury and later an Oldsmobile.
