'56 because of the part you look at most, the dash. The coon tail is optional.

'57 dash is second

1957 ford skyliner

'55 dash last of the three with the two spoke steering wheel

That is the dash order I like but, the cars are;

1956

1955

1957 [a pain to work on with the back a** opening hood]

For me it's the gorgeous '56 styling....my fave Ford of the decade.  The '55 is a beauty too but in '56 they improved the dash, grille, trim and tweaked the tail lights a touch which collectively makes a big difference.  I have the '55 and the '57 as a tie...love them both.

1957. So pretty it beat Chevy in sales. 1955 next. 1956 is a bit overdecorated.

This one was super easy.  The '56 is the #1 beauty inside and out of the three.  Next, the '57, then '55.  And I have them in the same order for the dashboards.

The '55 was a nice classic design, but it was made perfect for '56, and then the '57 was off a little from the perfection of the '56.

And then, since it was alluded to above, I've always been confused at to how the '57 Ford "outsold" the '57 Chevy for that year!  The Chevy, then and still, is so much more beautifully styled than the Ford.  I've always shook my head on this one.

+1 for me as well; 56, 57 then 55. Odd to me since I owned a 57 and my brother had a 55. But the 56 is the real deal.

Ford beat Chevy by only 7200 cars in 1957. There are still arguments over who really sold the most cars. Ford produced more cars than Chevy that year. Things change slightly when you look at calendar year vs model year (Sep to Sep) vs total 57s sold (this would include all 57s sold in 56, 57 & 58). The case has never been fully settled. One major factor that most folks would probably overlook was that Chevy introduced tubeless tires in 57 while Ford continued with tubes. Many folks did not trust tubeless tires when they were first introduced.
