I guess I'm different but I never cared for the odd paint breaks on the side of the '55. I always favored the more, easy-on-the-eye scheme of the '56.

I agree with Tony on the odd breaks, but I voted 1955 because I think the rest of its styling overcomes that.

@perrone1 I too agree with Tony on the 55 paint breaks. I don't care for the breaks on the 88 series for either year but the 56 98 series are just perfect IMO. Thanks john for another interesting comparison.

I like the '56 for its restyled front and paint scheme.

We each have our own likes and dislikes.  For me the 55 paint break is so different and makes it stand out.  I also liked the grill on the 55 better, so my vote is the 55.

Yes we do my friend. And sometimes a little odd can be a good/nice thing. The world would be awfully boring if everyone agreed on everything. Hooray for different choices!

I prefer the '55 for two reasons - the unique two-tone paint scheme, and the flush-fitting vs. protruding grille.

@carsman1958 I agree with Mr. Napoli...it's the '55 for me; which happens to be my fave Olds of that decade.

@moe-parr When I was a kid my Dad had a ‘56 Olds 88 in a kind of maroon and cream combo, and I’ve always thought that it looked very cool. I also like the ‘55 for it’s uniquness.

I like both.  So it's a TIE for me!  Though I do like the dash a little better on the '56, I'd never turn either one down.

Oh yeah? Who asked you? (HA! GOT YA!!) Thanks Jack, after some of the 'stuff' that you and I have been through, laughter, good humor and a good attitude is needed to hold a steady course.
