I find very little to choose between these two. Both have very similar overall look with only small detail variations. A tie!

Believe it or not, this was a tough one for me to vote on.  Of course I did vote for the '57 Olds, but the '56 is also one of my all-time favorites.  I think the Dash in the '56 is the BEST dash of any car during the Fifties decade.  Truth be told, I'd give up one of my kids for either of these.

Just kidding!  Smile But it sure would be Sweet Potato's if either of these cars were mine and parked in my driveway.

Easily the '57, my favorite year for Oldsmobile.

I'm not an Oldsmobile expert but I think the '57 was a complete redesign.

I like both very much but prefer the styling of the '57; especially that roof.

You are correct, it was a "complete redesign".  Bumper to bumper, the roof-line, and the dash were all new for '57.  Plus the addition of the J-2 engine option.

Voted '57, my third favorite Olds behind the '62 & '63, all other years I am not fond of.

57, it was all new but the designers made sure we wouldn’t mistake it for anything  but an Oldsmobile.

Love them both, but I have to go with the '57.
