I love both of them, even though they are quite different designs. To me, they are classics in their own right and among the coolest of Oldsmobiles.

It's no secret to anyone on this Forum that I love Oldsmobile's.  I'd take both these beauties in a heartbeat, but if I could only choose one, my vote goes to the 1958.  It's always been a favorite!

1959 for me. Never cared for the 58.

Since I was a kid I have always thought the 58 Olds and Buick were very unattractive designs.  The 59 Olds is a vast improvement.  I find it very odd that the Chevy, Pontiac and Caddy this year were all so beautiful; how did these other two go so wrong?

Two of my least favorite years, but I do like them all dolled up.

I agree with Frank, two years I like the least.  That said I would have to take the '59 since in my opinion no other Olds is uglier than the '58 along with it's brother the '58 Buick.  I still can't figure out how the GM '57 line up was so beautiful and Buick/Olds of the '58 line up was so ugly in comparison.

I have often wondered how the 58 Olds and Buicks got so ugly when the Chevys and Pontiacs were so nice looking IMO.

The 1958 Olds was a downer for me with the heavy looking rear panels. The 1959 changes were a big improvement to my eyes.

Of the GM '58 line-up, it's the Cadillac styling that I never liked.  The other four brands were incredible beauties to my eyes.  Interestingly, it was the same for the '59's.  I thought the Cadillac was the least attractive of any of the other four.
