I owned a 64 but very much prefer the looks of the '63.   IMO the 61 to 63 were gorgeous cars.

The '64 is a very nice T-Bird, but between the two, the '61-'63s are so beautiful. When I think of a Thunderbird, this is the first one that comes to mind.

Both are gorgeous, but the '64 takes this round.

1963 for me. Both are terrific though.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Thunderbirds in order of my preference:

1. '55 to '57

2. '58 to '60

3. '64 to '66

4. '61 to '63

5. '87 & '88 [Turbo Coupe only for styling]

Didn't care for any other T-birds

'BulletBird', says it all. The '64 maybe more modern - though I even wonder at that - but '31-'63 gets my vote.

I still have love for the 1955 to 57 years. Of these two, I prefer the lines of the 1963.

@david-green  David; I feel the same way; my faves by far are the 55 and 57 (hate the 56 continental kit), then the 61 to 63.

@jack-dodd

I'm with you on that continental kit Jack. I don't like them on anything. We certainly agree on Thunderbirds.

I would purchase either one as a well-detailed model.  But i just love those '64 tail tights.
