Firebird by a mile. This era Mustang, especially the Cobra, was somewhat of a joke IMHO.
That Mustang Ii just does not cut it for me although the Brits loved it on their narrow winding roads. I'm not sure if their import version had a more tuned suspension but it seemed like it. I'll choose the Firebird but their best engine in my opinion was the 1967 to 69 Single overhead cam six.
Although the Mustang has all of the bells and whistles of a super car, it wasn't.
But I drove one for a while and it was a fun car to be in. It FELT powerful and fast just because of the 302ci V-8, the tuned mufflers and the four speed transmission. With a little work it could have been a contender.
Firebird. I liked the 70-73 better than the 74-76 "shovel-nosed" front end but this Formula with it's twin-scooped hood looks great.
Firebird for me. The best thing about Mustang IIs are their front suspensions.
Agree!
