Also I did a poll but it told me I exceeded it..
i keep them all, and they are a real problem to store. 800-900 of them. I'm pretty close to the bite the bullet stage and paying for an off site storage unit.
I save ALL boxes from GOOD - OUTSTANDING models/replicas; this helps with "values." I rarely save any packaging from "cheapy models," as "value" is of little consequence. I probably have north of 500 boxes; I doubt I'll ever get to 600.
About 300 boxes for diecast cars and Lionel trains stored in my attic.

@chris Well said Chris. I probably have about 4,000 boxes. I have a four car garage with three 1/1 cars in it. If it weren't for the boxes, I could put a fourth car in there.
I have all my boxes if the cars came with one, since I have bought some used that did not have boxes at a great price. I would say I have about 950 boxes for diecast and about 100 boxes for plastic models that I have built. All stored in a building in my backyard.
I save every box. I had to put up a lot of shelves in my basement for them. When I occasionally sell a model having the box makes a difference, sometimes significant, in price vs no box. Plus the boxes were designed for shipping. That's for the 1/24 and few 1/18 I have.
For 1/43 I always leave the models in their cases for display. That way I can fold the boxes flat and store them in large tote boxes.
I have my mint model boxes stored in the attic, cheapie model boxes get thrown away. Models with accessories get the boxes stored in a closet so they don't get damaged by the heat/cold of the attic.
I have always kept the boxes and storage is an issue. I have moved so many times and without the original boxes packing up my models would have been a nightmare. Now I keep my model boxes sealed in larger moving boxes but I am running out of room in the basement. In the last 30 years I have moved long distance three times and each time paid the moving companies +$1,000 just for boxes. I now break down those moving boxes and save them just in case I move one last time. I save bubble wrap as well. I miss my younger days when I could pack up in three days and load a U-Haul trailer but now it takes two months to prepare and a fully loaded 18-wheeler, plus an auto transporter. I grew up in a military family and we frequently moved long distances so even in my old age I stayed prepared. No idea how my parents could pack up a house in a week and move furniture, kids, pets, extra cars frequently.
Keep. I inherited a piece of furniture from my parents that accommodates almost all of them.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I keep my boxes although a lot of my early models and a few recent eBay purchases don’t have them. Luckily my back split home has a rather large crawl space which is currently about half full of empty and still filled model boxes. Yes, my collecting is out of control. I do cull periodically at toy shows such as the annual CTCS show in Toronto where boxes are essential.
