DeSoto for me this pairing.  The long nose and grille swayed me.

For 1948, the Dee-Lightful Soto.

The DeSoto convertible is a lovely car indeed but lacks the sportiness and modern design of the stylish Olds.

I have a slight preference for that more traditional DeSoto, John.

Oldsmobile. Plus it's red.

One of the very rare "Ties" for me.  I love the DeSoto "Waterfall Grill" and the overall look of the car.  And the Oldsmobile, well after all, it's an Oldsmobile!  For '48 it has a modern look that Ford, Plymouth, and Chevy didn't.

I really like both but the DeSoto by the smallest of margins. If the comparison was 1949 the Olds would be my pick because of the new overhead valve motor.

Even with my strong Mopar bias, Olds styling looks far more advanced to my eye.
