I have a very slight preference for the Mercury.

That is a very good looking Olds, but the '49 Mercury qualifies as "iconic" so it has to win for me today.

I voted tie.

Couple of great tracks to go with this pair:

K.C. Douglas “Mercury Boogie”

Hey mama you look so fine

Ridin' around that Mercury Forty Nine
'Cause I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
Yes I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury Ford
I'm gonna buy a Mercury and cruise up and down the road…

Jackie Brenston and Ike Turner. “Rocket 88”

V-8 motor and this modern design

Black convertible top and the girls don't mind
Sportin' with me, ridin' all around town for joy
Blow your horn, rocket, blow your horn.   …

Iconic or not, I can't let the Mercury win over the Oldsmobile.  I like both, so I vote a TIE.

I love them both but there's just something about a '49 Merc that gives it a very slight edge.

Almost a tie, but the Oldsmobile squeaks ahead.

Very close, but the Mercury was just a little more distinctive than the Olds, perhaps because Chevrolet looked so similar.
