Two great luxury yachts. For me, it would get down to the interiors. But even then, it's a bit of a toss-up. I'm going with the Packard.

The Packard, although of the bathtub generation, still looks rather elegant compared to the Lincoln, with its very odd looking nose.  John Merritt mentioned recently about certain cars reminding him of various animals......well the Lincoln's grille and headlights remind me of a prehistoric animal.  It was my first impression as a kid and it has stayed with me all these years.  Go figure....Lol.

In this class, the Packard still has the classier look in 49.  👀

The Packard was an easy decision for me. It is elegant and stylishly sculpted. The body has beautifully molded rear fenders and integral fender skirts. The Lincoln, to me, seems unfinished. A large chrome eyebrow adorns the front fender but not the back - it's slab-sided and austere. The skirts look like PEP Boys add-ons. Other than that I like the Lincoln (LOL) but the Packard is higher class.

The Lincoln looks great, and I really like it, but the Packard has far more distinction and class.

Packard for me too. It does a better job with the bathtub.

Rather like both both for the period. A little bath tubish. Of the two, my heart goes to the Packard.

I have always liked both of these cars but the Packard gets the nod which I only learned to appreciate about twenty years ago.

The LINCOLN hands down, gets my vote.  It's lower, has an attractive and unique grill and headlight arrangement, a full (non-split) windshield, and certainly more modern looking with its flat side styling.  The Packard can only be described as bulbous and old looking.  For me, this was an easy one!  LINCOLN!
