Once again John B. is sitting there laughing at us trying to pick a favorite. Well here goes, I like the Chevy for it being a Bel Air hardtop and the Ford for it being Ford's answer since Ford didn't have their Hardtop until the following year. I have always liked the Crestliner for it's unique paint schemes, interiors and wheel covers. Ford by the smallest of margins.
I can't agree more Bob; especially about Mr. Bono. He's the puppet-master supreme! No doubt, Ford was shedding the pontoon fender styling and trying to take the lead, mid-century, into the future with the shoebox design.
In this example, however, I favor the openness of the side window 'coupe' styling. Ford still has the tudor look, but with four panes on each side. I gotta go with Chevy until 1951 or so.
I voted Chevy for its full hardtop and because I don't care for the Crestliner sculpted sides.

+1 I agree.

+2 I agree also. Ford, don't care for the single bullet in the grill or the side treatment [like the '51 Ford wins]. '52 Chevy wins, Ford single bullet again, might as well buy a Studebaker.
1950 I would have bought a Hudson.
Of the two I voted for the Chevy hardtop. 👀👍

Tough call, love both...going with the Chevrolet for sentimental reasons.

Hard top or not, I still go for the Ford. Not as pretty but a better vehicle mechanically.
