I'll take the son of Hud please john. (Great comparo - you're on your game again today!)
John, I would never had thought to compare these two but as I studied them together I found the decision difficult. After much back and forth I came up with a tie.
Hudson. Its lines are cleaner.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Great selection for comparison John! I went over and over various pics and details of both cars, desperate to break the tie that I had initially settled on. It finally came down to which car would I be happiest to have in my garage for many years as a weekend driver and Buick styling and interior won by a bumperette.
I voted for the Buick. The toothsome grill and the curvy body is eye candy to me. The Hudson is too plain.
Bob nailed it perfectly for me as well. Great comparo John. I sure do enjoy these.💯😊
Both are especially good-looking automobiles from that era. In 1/18 scale, one of my Highway 61 diecasts is in that exact color combination. I believe there was a resin 1/18 replica of that impressive Buick.
Buick had a strong eight-cylinder engine and the Hudson could be equipped with the Twin-H power race-proven straight six so good motive ability was available for each of these big beauties.
If it were '49, '50, or '51 model years, I'd choose Hudson. But by '52, Hudson was losing its uniqueness. And the BUICK was really becoming a standout. So, BUICK for me today!

Two sweethearts! I'm going with the Buick. The bathtub cars never really got my interest. I know they were part of the huge transition in automobile design once the makers settled down after WWII. But the overall theme never struck a chord in me.

I cannot say that I like either much, but do prefer the Hudson slightly in this pairing. Thanks John.
Hudson all the way. Hey, the Buick is nice, even classy, but the Hudson has so much more character and it speaks to me in a way the Buick never will.

Hey John, How did you CHANGE your profile photo above? I've wanted to change mine, and I've attempted to figure it out, but to no avail. Good shot by the way!
