@bob-jackman If we consider that the Packard grille has always been a kind of mitre point with shoulders, they have retained that form whilst remaining in-step with trends. The Packard and Oldsmobile grilles are essentially the same in all their elements, aside from this shoulder and hat element. Though I am not arguing - you are right - there's a lot of grille on the front of that Packard.

@georgeschire You'd be better off selling the Packard, than handing back the keys.

Perhaps.  But honestly, I'm of the opinion that I'd have better luck selling the Oldsmobile.  I may be wrong (and it wouldn't be the first time I was), but I think when push came to shove, folks would line up to look at that Oldsmobile, while the Packard would sit lonely with people ignoring it.  I'm sorry, but I just don't see the Packard as a car to draw any serious attention when up against the Olds.

I Dont Know

With no disrespect ever intended to John's great "Which One?" polls, the voting of 14 people doesn't for me, say that the Packard would win out overall.  Give me thousands voting and I'm sticking to my guns that the Oldsmobile would be the favorite.  LOL, that's my stand, and I'm sticking to it.

@georgeschire This is light-hearted banter: stick to your guns! We should not take inspiration from Groucho's humour: " I have my principles and if you don't like them, I have others".

LOL, the way I see it, everything we share here in the Lounge is "light-hearted banter".  We all have different opinions and perspectives on everything we like, dislike, and life in general.  So never fear, I never take any of this stuff seriously.  Life is too short to get twisted on what others feel. Thanks for sharing your viewpoints.

The Fiesta does not pull its weight when compared to the Packard. It's also the weakest when compared to the other 2 limited production luxury convertibles produced by GM for 1953. To me the Fiesta screams "low rent".   It's only redeeming quality is its OHV V8 attached to the Hydromantic transmission. So my vote goes to the Packard.
