Against Cadillac, if there is a Packard, I go for it every time. Thanks John.
Cadillac in '53 was well on its way to it's peak of perfection in '56. I know Packard was a respected standard of excellence in '53, but against the Cadillac, it is old styling and bulbous. Very much an "old guys" car. While the Cadillac was also the mark of excellence that year, it also looked new and royal in appearance. My vote goes to CADILLAC!

Funny how two sets of eyes look at the same thing and see something completely different! To me, it's the Cadillac that looks old and bulbous - look at the height of the hood vs. the Packard!

Packard for me ! It looks years ahead of that fat, bulbous low-riding Caddy. I absolutely 💓 it ! Those big open wheel wells edged in trim are beautiful.
I voted Packard. The '53 Caddy is about as iconic as an American car can get. But for the vote, I first ask myself, which one would I rather own right now. The Packard is beautiful and styled so much different than the Cadillac - I want one!

Come on Tony, I'll paper, scissors, rock you for it ! 😁
Going with the Packard this morning. I’ve come to appreciate the Packards more in recent years (my father always said they were the best). The Caddy is still pretty cool. 😎

Cadillac for me. I never warmed to this generation Packard's looks.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
The 53 Carribean is my favorite post war Packard. The 53 Cadillac is a refinement of the early fifties Cadillacs. Love both but the Cadillac's drive train gives it my vote.

I was never good at that. My counter: Marco. Polo.

Ditto.
Historical Note: In 1953, there were 532 Cadillac Convertibles sold. In 1953, there were 750 Packard Convertibles sold. Just ask the man who owns one.

I agree with Tony. I love the Caddy but this particular Packard is gorgeous.

Good man! (Your check's in the mail)
Not my type cars, but the Packard looks better to me.
