Mercury by an eyelash. I like its headlight bezels. The Lincoln's are missing.
I have to vote tie. Essentially the same car with minor trim differences.
I voted Mercury too. I also like the hood scoop.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
...well, since that's "my" Lincoln, I have to go with Lincoln. The one pictured is a rare Cosmopolitan, mine was a Capri in those very colors.
I love both of these vehicles. A tie for me this time.
@bob-jackman I have to agree that they basically are the same vehicle with only minor differences, but I went with the Mercury for the same reason Tony said.
Though both are '54 favorites of mine, the edge goes to the Mercury for the taillights. I'd be happy to have both in 1:24 scale.

As a side note to todays "Which One?", I've always been amused how FoMoCo sort of forgot bringing the Lincoln in the future until the beautiful 1956. Confusing because, it being their top of the line luxury marque, I'd think it would have been brought in to the future before either their Ford or Mercury. When the '55 Lincoln is parked next to the '55 Ford and Mercury, it looks really old and outdated. And certainly too, when compared to the '55 Cadillac.

Yes indeed....a very common complaint then AND now! 🙄
In short, FoMoCo management authorized funds for a major "face lift" of the rear only, to better match the all-new '56 line up. They did not want to spend any money re-tooling A-Pillars or wrap-around windshields for 1955 Lincolns - which gave these cars and outdated look compared to practically everything else, new & old, that year.
In fact, there are many '55 Lincoln ads & brochures that show beautiful female models posing, "conveniently placed" in front of the A-Pillars - hiding, of course - the absence of "modern" wrap-around windshields. 😏 😏
I prefer the looks of the Lincoln...of course the Mercury is beautiful too.
Gents, thanks for your responses.
