I really like each of these Fifties automobiles although my family actually had a beautiful two-tone blue 1955 Pontiac, so I am always partial to those cool cars.
Dodge for me too. Pontiac doesn't get going until 1957.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

I preference goes to the Pontiac in this pairing, John
Once again for me no hesitation here it only took me 2 seconds to decide the Pontiac !
I love Pontiac; so it surprised me that I picked and voted for the rakish good looks of the Dodge for this model year pairing.
Dodge definitely for me. '57 first year I liked Pontiac. '55 I would have bought a Mercury.
As a lover of Pontiac in general I give the nod to Poncho; but the Dodge is a close second, especially in tri-color.
Dodge is nice but the Star Chief is outstanding.
I selected the Pontiac probably because I have the FM model in the same color combo. The '55 Poncho also reminds me of "I Love Lucy", although they had a convertible which did not have any windshield glass. Must have been a option. That Ricky Ricardo was such a cheapskate. Lol.
I surprised myself on this one. I voted for the DODGE!
I like the Pontiac too, but in this comparison it appears big and frumpy. I think it's the "suspenders" that add to that perception. The 1955 model year line-up from the Big Three automakers delivered so much NEW and EXCITING styling changes and each offered good and bad examples.
For General Motors, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Cadillac rocked, but their Pontiac and Buick weren't (to my eyes) as attractive.
Over at Chrysler Corporation, they hit home runs with their entire "ladder" line-up! And in my opinion had the best looking cars.
And Ford Motor Company, with the exception of Lincoln, also hit the ball out of park with Ford and Mercury. For some reason, Lincoln didn't get a new look until a year later.

I owned a ‘55 Pontiac after my ‘65 Impala was stolen. It took months for the bank and insurance company to be convinced I didn’t have anything to do with its disappearance. That 13 year old Pontiac got me to work and anywhere I needed to go so naturally my vote went to that car.
