'55 DeSoto or Mercury?

I could have taken a long time to consider this because I really like both cars. Instead, I just jumped at the DeSoto because I am drawn in by the sidesweep.

Mercury by the proverbial mile. Always loved the Mercury styling '52 to '56. DeSoto similar to the Buick, too many big teeth showing.

What beautiful Fifties American automobiles ! I would be delighted to have or drive either one of these gorgeous cars.

I had to go with a tie. I like certain aspects of both. The grrr…ills are cool one tough looking, one looks like it is a forced smile. The Mercury is a little smoother looking than the Desoto but the side sweep makes up for that. The taillights on the Desoto are sorta plain. The Mercury taillights are cool. But most of all the Mercury had the Sun Valley..

Mercury. Long, low & lean, a young man's dream machine!! Still looks vibrant to me. The DeSoto looks like Harvey's old man's car. LOL!

I really like both, but the 55/56 Mercs are among my favorites, so it's the Merc this round.😊
