I voted Chevy. It's very pretty and the Pontiac isn't IMO.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Chevrolet , all the way, although that Pontiac is still a respectable vehicle.
Two cars I have always loved but never compared them head-to-head prior till now. John; You Da MAN again sir!
I really like the '55 Chevy, but, believe it or not, I like the '56 better. The main reason is the teardrop rear wheel opening. And although the Pontiac has been a favorite, I always felt a little uneasy about what looks, to me, like eyebrows over the headlights and the sudden bump-up at the end of the rear fenders.
I voted Chevy.
The 55 Pontiac was beautiful IMO while the 56 not so much. My favorite tri five chevy depends on which day you ask me....either 55 or 56. Chevy for this comparison.
I don't care for either one of them.
Tri 5's I love the '55, like the '57, the '56 I don't care for, they made the tail lights too large, the grill too big, the parking lights too big, the side trim is too much, just too much chrome for me. The perfect tri-5 would be the '57 [love the front end] with the '55 rear clip & side trim['57 dash makes all the difference to me since that is what you look at most].
I did not like Pontiac styling until the beautiful '57.
That said I'm a tie today.
PS; '56 to me was FoMoCo, '57 was GMC.
In both cases I prefer their '55 predecessors but I pick Pontiac in both years.

I am a Pontiac lover in general but Chevrolet gets the nod for all of the tri-five years; they are all beautiful designs. I LOVE the '55 and '57 Pontiacs but am less enamored with the '56 as its grille and bumper look a bit chunky by comparison. I like it but don't love it.
For me, I usually pass on the '56 Pontiacs but this one is exceptionally nice. Sill not as nice as the '56 Chevrolet which gets my vote.
