Mercury styling gets the easy nod this time.  I prefer the '54 and '55 Olds  grille.

The Olds looks like its been eating too much and needs some exercise. The Merc looks fit & trim and ready to run the roads. Montclair for me please John!

Six of one, half dozen of the other. Neither really float my boat. Tie.

I rather prefer the styling of the 1956 Mercury, Olds, not so much.

I like both but the Oldsmobile wins for me for it's build quality, beautiful dash board and side trim. I didn't care for on the 88s side trim but the 98s was well balanced IMO.

Mercury for me as well.  The Olds, Pontiac for the late fifties just remind me of overgrown whales.

I like the Mercury a little more than the Olds but they both look heavy.  I wish today’s car designs would lend themselves to two tone but they would look a mess bodies are to small.

Both of these are beautiful Fifties American automobiles from that era ! The Mercury was a strong and attractive full-size cruiser and the Oldsmobile had a Rocket V-8. Right now, I only have some 1/18 replicas of the Mercury, but I would be delighted with any scale example of the Oldsmobile.
