I like both but have always been a fan of the 58 Edsel. Edsel.

This one is quite close for me.  I very much prefer the '55 & '56 DeSoto to the overly flamboyant styling of the '57 & '58; which to my eye does a nicer looking reset in '59 & '60.  The Edsel continues to gain ground with me as the years go by; mainly due to its unique looks and its place in automotive history.  DeSoto for me today though.

I'll shout to the roof-tops!  EDSEL!  Innovative, unique, different, are words that described it in the beginning and still describe it today.  The DeSoto it's compared to today, would have been better left on the drawing board.

There are a number of things that I don't care for on BOTH cars. But more is easily correctable on the DeSoto. DeSoto got my vote.

Always loved the taillights on the ‘58 Edsel and ‘57 DeSoto but hate those gold hubcaps so it’s ‘58 Edsel over that ‘57 DeSoto today.

Too funny!  For me, it's the "taillights" on the '58 Edsel that bother me most about it.  I'd much prefer the "boomerang taillights" that were on the '58 station wagon.

DeSoto please. The Edsel is differently too "innovative, unique, different" for my taste. I have always liked the "55 - '58 DeSoto with the '57 duel head lights being my fave.

57 DeSoto (1)

The black/red color combo is attractive on this '57.  Sometimes certain colors can make a non-attractive car look better.
