  • No interest, 1958 wasn't a good year for Ford or GM.

Pontiac for me. Love the side spear.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

Really beautiful American automobiles and I like them both ! As I have mentioned before, my family had a 1958 Chevrolet and our neighbors on either side of us had a 1958 Pontiac and a 1958 Oldsmobile. You would never believe 1958 was a recession year in the U.S.

Hmmm, tough one.  I like the front end of the Chevrolet a bit more than the Pontiac, so Chevrolet for me.

@ed-glorius I remember reading an article stating that the side trim on the ‘58 Bonneville represented a rocket with a glowing afterburner (reflector) leaving a contrail. I don’t know if it’s a true fact but it sounds right.

Very nearly a tie but I give the nod to Pontiac styling.  The side design and trim as mentioned by others is really attractive and the interior finish is better.  I would be proud to own either car though.

Bad year for car styling in general. Chevy is the only GMC car I actually like the styling of. But in the Impala trim only. Pontiac I like the '57 & '59 but not the '58.

 I would have bought a T-bird for '58.

Not my favourite year but the Pontiac side trim is unique and gets my vote.

@geno Si Poncho!

You may be old enough to remember the Cisco Kid on TV. Debuted 1950. Sidekick, Pancho (with an 'a') would say, "Oh Cisco!" to which the Cisco Kid would retort, "Oh Pancho". And Pancho's favorite saying was, "Let's Went!"

Edit. The characters in the TV show:
