The Mercury. Cleaner lines.
More styling cues that I do not like on the Merc than on the DeSoto. DeSoto for me.
Mercury for me although this is my favorite of the finned DeSotos.
DeSoto. I love its looks.

Don't care for either one of them. But, I think the DeSoto looks better than the Mercury.
Oh yeah, The DeSoto all the way. It looks like it could have made a cool Batmobile.😁 John, a carryover from yesterday, thank you for doing these for us daily, I too enjoy these.💯👍
Two excellent choices. I vote for the Mercury for that elegant rear window and those near-iconic taillights.

DeSoto for me. Even though they were on the way out in 1960 I still liked fins.
Geno, my pleasure!Oh yeah, The DeSoto all the way. It looks like it could have made a cool Batmobile.😁 John, a carryover from yesterday, thank you for doing these for us daily, I too enjoy these.💯👍

While I am not a fin fan, the DeSoto carries off the look well. I find the Mercury styling cues ‘off’ especially at the windshield, and it just looks too bulky.
@david-green, you have great taste, but I see it exactly the opposite. To me, the DeSoto looks huge, and the Merc looks sleek. However, you make a good point about the windshield on the Mercury. I wonder what it would look like without that extended top edge.

MERCURY for me! Had it been up against the '60 Chrysler, I'd have voted a tie. I like the DeSoto, but it has just a little more "Bling" on it than the Chrysler does, so I go for the Sleek Mercury.
For the record, the '60 Mercury and '60 Chrysler are my personal two favorite cars for 1960, in what (in my opinion) was a very dismal year for styling from the Big Three automakers. Especially GM.

I voted Desoto so sorry to see it go. Last of the fins. Mercury doesn’t really interest me until around 1964 or 65.
