'60 Mercury always looked like it was low/dragging it's tail/butt to me and I don't care for the separation of the headlights.  Pontiac please, I would have bought the Buick in 1960.

Not a bad pair at all but I do prefer the lines of the Pontiac best.

@david-green I’ve said it before, my Dad’s Tri-power Ventura started my love affair with the GM’s performance brand. I never cared much for the Bonnie’s long ass, butt (pun intended) I wouldn’t turn one down, especially a drop top!

I much prefer the styling of the Mercury.  The '60 Pontiac was a disappointment for me, compared to the beautiful GM offerings many years before and after.

After the wonderfully dramatic split grille on the '59 Pontiac, the 1960 nose always looked to me like a curious retreat to a bluff, heavy mid-50s look. Visually a real disappointment, although I've never seen one in real life and maybe it looked more attractive "in the metal" than I imagine.

Mercury styling wasn't all-round perfect, but it was quite distinctive and out of these two it appeals to me more. Yes, the back end with those oval tail-lamps was the best bit.

For those who didn't like the spaced-out headlamps on the Merc (which seem to be a borrowing from the '59 Oldsmobile!), well, that could be fixed, but I'm not sure it's an improvement. On reflection, probably not.

Close! If they were hardtops, I'd go with the Mercury. As they are, Pontiac!

When I met my ex wife, she had a blue Park Lane convertible. I won't hold that against the car as I still think it was a beautiful car in every way. The sixty Pontiac was dull IMO but the next year it was out of sight. Mercury.

Except for pics I don't recall ever seeing a '60 Mercury, they were never part of my world. That being said, the car is gorgeous, but I don't have any ties to it so it's the Pontiac that gets vote.

Gents, thanks for your responses.

Kevins, I also prefer the Ventura over the Bonneville.
