NUTS! You're far too good at this John. When I page back and forth to look at these choices as many times as I have here and cannot come up with a clear winner, I have to go TIE. NUTS!!!

Both are attractive automobiles and, although both are quite different, each have those kind of horizontal "fins". In various scales, I have diecast replicas of each one.

Makes one wonder if Ford and GM collaborated on some of the design elements??? No, I doubt it!

So Michael, which on gets your pick??

I've always liked this Ford, while the Chevy falls between two stools in its looks IMO. Ford for me.

That pic of the '60 Chevy doesn't do it justice. Makes it look short, tall and bulky. In reality these are two of my all-time favourites, so a tie for me.

Tempted for another tie but on reflection, slight nod to Chevrolet.

I don't have the time to devote to making a decision on this, so tie. John, I want you to know, I feel like I'm back in school and taking a multiple choice exam and just making a guess. Please make some easy decisions for me and the rest of the feeble minded amongst us.

I like both cars very much but give the nod to the sportier looking Impala by a narrow margin.  Thinking back to the years from 1955 these two marques have always been very close in my order of preference; going back and forth.  Chevrolet Bel Air/Impala in '55, '58, 60....Ford Fairlane/Galaxie in '56, '57 and '59.  More Chevy oriented after 1960 through '64 though IMHO, save for a tie in '63.  Never a dud from either company through all those years.

Back in the day I would have chosen the Chevy but, shortly there after the Ford grew on me.  So for most of my life it is the Ford styling I prefer.  '60 to '66 I love the Galaxie styling.

I like them both and would certainly find it difficult to choose ! One wonders if industrial design espionage would be all that successful or actually filled with difficulties and dangers if copying is significantly involved.

Lol, in my view, perhaps if we are not careful,  in the future all conveyances will be egg-shaped universal objects that will take you somewhere on a pre-programmed approved route !

I do like both, but FORD looks more modern.  The Chevy looks completely plucked after the beautiful '59.

I like them before a bunch, but a very slight edge to the Ford today.
