Cadillac please. The Caddy has a little bit longer Royal bloodline in its heritage. The Imperial is gorgeous too but not quite as regal as the Cadillac crest!
Imperial trimmer than earlier models but still classic. Never saw many 1962 caddies and those I saw over the years did not hold up well. They were headed in the correct direction. The design looked smaller than those before and after but still the Imperial wins.
The Imperial is more to my taste. A nicely toned-down and progressive development of the 1957-onward styling theme.
The Cadillac isn't that bad but the styling has too many "sharp pointy" details for my liking.
In the hope of provoking some more anti-Photoshop hate mail (which I do love receiving) I had a go at smoothing it.
Oops, I may have ended up with some kind of Oldsmobile. Never mind. It was more fun than reading the Sunday papers.

Oh so close, but I picked the Caddy. '62 is my second favorite Caddy ever, next to the '58.🤑💯
Close win for the Imperial.

CADILLAC as quickly as I can type it! It was so toned down from the excessiveness of the goofy looking '59 and the slightly less goofy looking '60, it began it's recovery in '61. And it appears that '62 was a beautiful result.
The Imperial on the other hand, looks like after it came off the assembly line, and it dawned on them them that they forgot to put taillights on it. So they go over to a desk drawer grab a couple of flashlights and prop them on the rear fenders. And for this Imperial, the same must have happened for the headlights! OMG, we forgot headlights! Oh no problem, go to the cupboard, get a couple cereal bowls and we'll just past them on the bumper.

The 62 Imperial is my second favorite post war design for the mark next to the 55. The Cadillac is my all time favorite post war design. CADILLAC in every way.
Imperial one of the two brands I dislike the styling of, the other being Buick.
There are 4 years of Cadillac's I like '57, '58, '61, '62, of them I love 2, the '57, '62.
Really tough one but the 62 Cadillac has always been one of my favorites. It's really close though, I do love the 62 Imperial.
Cadillac styling for the easy win today....my fave Caddy of its decade by far. The Imperial is cool and certainly different but a little gimmicky.
Both beauties but it's the Cadillac that gets my vote.
Gents, thanks for your responses!
