Finally! An easy one for me. I love that roofline on the Merc! And, so far, it's unanimous!! 🤗

I'd enjoy owning either one and nearly equally. But, yeah John, that roofline tips my vote to the slimmer, trimmer Marauder!
I just can't decide between the two so I have to vote tie. John, your comparisons have become more difficult for me lately....congratulations on the well thought out brain teasers.

Mercury for the easy win this time. I have always loved its styling, particularly the roofline and prefer its grille and tail lights to the lovely '64 edition. Olds for '62 was so gorgeous that IMHO the '63 looked comparatively blockish; its tail light design was attractive but otherwise it never appealed.
OLDSMOBILE without hesitation. And interesting, those who mention liking the roofline on the Mercury, as that is what turned me off immediately.
Will admit too, I owned a '63 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Hardtop back in the very early seventies (the same color as the Starfire above), and it was a dream car.

Olds for me by a large margin! That Starfire side trim is a knockout!

As already mentioned, the Mercury roofline - giving such an expanse of rear surface area- is a total winner.
The Oldsmobile requires "gingerbread" tacked on otherwise it would be transparent. The Mercury's styling projects motion even when it's standing still. Mercury all the way.
