In this case, the Buick Riviera is my choice. I just can’t warm up to that particular Thunderbird design.

Same for me David; Buick styling is far superior.  I owned a '64 T-Bird years ago but couldn't warm up to its styling or handling so I sold it.

Ah yes, I do remember the Tempo. And not in a fond way. I wouldn't have one if you gave it to me, paid insurance, gas and registration fees for a year !

I looked up info on the Alliance and laughed at what I read. I hope others will too. It was very entertaining ! Some didn't last a year in rust belt states.

Aaaacccckkkk! I knew this day would come! I can predict the winner. But, for me, this is a nightmare choice. Harder than Sophie's choice! More difficult than picking between Ginger and Mary Ann! A greater challenge than choosing a favorite Bogey movie. More impossible than deciding between a Pontiac Aztek and an AMC alliance! If it was only by design, I'd take the Riviera...kinda. But for sheer refinement and a DDG interior, I'd have to go with the T-Bird. OK! I'm voting for the Thunderbird!

The T-Bird's easy access sliding steering wheel was likely a factor in your difficult decision JK.........oh, and it's Mary Ann without a doubt!

Leave it to you Mr. K to bring up the AMC Alliance. I've always been proud of my familiarity with so many cars / brands but I had to look this one up !

I don't know how the great man could even mention the AMC Alliance and the Aztek in the same breath. The Alliance was just a style-free tin box, while the Aztek is a thing of sublime and enduring elegance. (Just like the Riviera, which definitely gets my styling vote, by the way.)

I may be getting a bit 'long-in-the-tooth' here but why isn't Mrs. Thurston Howell up for some consideration ?

That doesn't mean she's out of contention.

I love the Thunderbird, but I love the Riv a wee bit more.

I couldn't decide.  I like them both.  So a tie for.
