The GTX is cool. Were I 20 years younger, it would appeal more to me than the Chevelle. I owned the '66 version of the Chevy but not as an SS396. THAT still appeals to me BIG time. Chevy!

And I like the GTX for its angular styling, especially the hardtop.

Chevrolet please. I owned a 1966 Chevelle SS convertible. 1967 would have been equally nice. Hardtop would have been my second choice.

Chevelle for me as it shared the same body lines as my 1966 Buick Skylark GS 400.

An excellent comparison and similar looking pics to back it up John!  It's very close for me but I give the nod to the Chevelle styling.  Both cars are awesome and I would be proud to own either one.

To my eye, this styling generation of mid-size Mopars is an absolute home-run. Plus I think the engine, transmission and suspension are all superior to the Chevy. Easy win for the Plymouth today.

The Chevy is nice but, a bit small inside and I do prefer the Plymouth styling and drive train and suspension system compared to the Chevy.

In '67 I bought:

Dodge I paid for (3)

@moe-parr That is what I bought in Jan of '67.... A Dodge Coronet 500...black/black...318, 3 on the tree, 3:23 sure grip, HD suspension.

I totaled it on March 3rd with 2,300 miles. Showing off at 115 mph when a '66 Plymouth Fury pulled out from a side street, I left 103 ft of skid marks and actually broke the Plymouth in half. Being young was great! Crazy but great.

@brush And you lived to tell the tale!  I'll bet the driver of the Plymouth was a tad startled!

Love both, but it's the Chevelle this time.

Gents, thanks for the pics and responses.
