To me, the Firebird was trying just a little bit too hard to be "not a Camaro." That being said, I would take either car in a heartbeat. My vote goes to the Cougar.

Always liked the ‘67 Cougar, still not happy with my younger brother who parked one in his garage 30 years ago and hasn’t touched it since.

Pete R. says the Cougar looks very "formal". Is that a nice way of saying "unimaginative"? In styling terms I'd have to agree.
As usual I have no idea of the relative merits of two cars in terms of performance, quality, reliability or anything else, but purely on looks the Pontiac gets my vote.

Both are both beautiful and powerful automobiles from that era. Either would have been a joy to have and drive back then and each makes a great scale replica automobile model right now.
