Back in the day, I would have struggled trying to decide. The Olds was a beast of a muscle car. The Charger seemed a bit more refined but not quite as exciting. The Charger was undeniably good-looking but was wearing a varsity letter sweater and chinos, while the Olds had a leather jacket and a white t-shirt with jeans. Then, the Charger became an icon. Today, I vote for the Charger.

I voted Dodge - long & sleek. The Olds is pumped and buff, old-school style.

I have to go Olds because of the build quality. Back in the day I still remember the Chargers interior which appeared cheap to me and the rust issues.

Charger wins easily for me; it is my favorite of the muscle cars.

Like both very much. Today, the Oldsmobile 442 seems a little more comfortable and refined. Back then, Charger for sure.

Having the misfortune to be born the wrong side of the pond and having no personal ownership experience (performance, handling, comfort, refinement, interiors, build quality, rust, etc.) of any of the cars offered in these comparisons, for me it purely a matter of the styling comparison offered by the photos.

On that basis, the Charger wins by a mile. Several miles, actually.

Of course, if I had bought a Charger and it rusted out in 2 years, or if I had lost my virginity on the back seat of an Olds 4-4-2, my answer might be very different.

As much as I do like the Olds, Mopar has always been my favorite.

This begs the question...
