Pontiac please. I like its size and looks. The Mercury looks terrific too.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
The Merc is cool, perhaps more rare than the Pontiac. But that Grand Prix has a "WOW Factor" in the upper stratosphere!
Again today, a toughie, as do like both. So it comes down to the dash of the Pontiac and the outstanding grill work. WOW! And amazingly, how interesting that it has a tinge of the '58 Edsel look to it. At least to my eyes anyway. As for the Mercury, the major downer for me with it is those hidden headlights. Never liked them on any car. SO PONTIAC FOR ME PLEASE!

Normally, I would be all over the GP. It set the stage for the Neo Classic look of the seventies. But, that's a Marauder X-100, and I have always loved it. The interior of the Merc is no slouch.

Tough call here. Both are iconic but I lean towards the relatively rare Marauder.
@jkuvakas When I was 15, my Dad bought a new '69 Marauder (not the X-100, unfortunately, but the base model). Until the day he traded it (for another Mercury - a Marquis - several years later), he was constantly getting stopped in parking lots, traffic lights, wherever - with people wanting to know what kind of car it was and telling him how great it looked, etc. It really was a great car back in the day (even without the X-100's 429 engine).

@skip, the Marauder with a 390 was still a formidable car. It was, IMO, the epitome of the "gentlemen's express."

Very close to a tie for me as I love both cars but the crisper, sportier lines of the Grand Prix get the nod.
Not even close for me. A lifetime ago I went to our local Pontiac dealer which always had the latest and coolest Ponchos. I expected to see the new Trans Am that I’d been waiting to see in person. Instead I saw the most bad ass, sinister car I never imagined. You guessed it, a black, black leather SJ 428, 4 speed Grand Prix. With no vinyl top, which I learned later was very rare. That one really left an impression on me. It’s a shame they would’ve take my schwinn on trade!
Grand Prix gets my vote!

I like the Mercury but I like the GP more.
