Mustang, even if you couldn't see out the rear window. I like its looks, and never cottoned to this Cougar, although it is a beautiful color. I'm not a fan of vinyl roofs either.

Never liked the Cougar after 1968. Not wild about the 71-73 Mustangs either but they win in this comparison.

My thoughts precisely - I voted Ford especially since the Cougar has a vinyl roof-cover.
I had a '72 Cougar in dark green metallic with tan interior with a 351 Cleveland and it was a nice looking, fast car. I must say though that the Mustang in MACH I form with it attractive decaling is my preference by a slim margin. If it was standard Cougar vs. standard Mustang the Cougar would win hands down.
I have one word to describe my vote..."Bond, James Bond."

No interest in these: Cougar '67 & '68 the only ones I would consider buying and the Mustang would be the '68 & '69, I would not turn down a '67 or '70 Mustang though.
MERCURY COUGAR Please! That grill on the Cougar is a killer! LOVE IT! This said, I'd choose for the Cougar even WITHOUT that grill. Did I say COUGAR?

LOL John, it's been awhile since I left my bank job, but I think your "one word" was actually "three words". Or were you adding on "interest"?

Cougar for me. I prefer the roofline to the fastback Mustang.
