I chose the Gran Prix, Cougar second. I owned a 73 Cougar (last of the smaller sized) and although I like the look of the 76 I do not like how big and away from the original it became.

I'm not that keen on cars of this era in general but I place the Cougar first by a substantial margin for styling; Pontiac second and Dodge last.  I had a '72 Cougar which I much preferred for its looks, smaller size and better handling.

No interest in cars after'72.  In '74 I bought a new Ford F 250 and in '77 a new Ford F 150, Company pick-ups after that. In '73 my first motorcycle a Triumph 500 and in '76 a new Triumph 750 Bonneville BUT no new cars. A used '72 Plymouth Sports Fury Suburban for the wife in '75.

74 Ford F250 Copy
77 Ford (1) Copy
1 73 Trophy Trail TR5T 500cc (1)
2 1976 Bonneville 750cc (1)
72 Fury Sports Suburban [Karen](7)

For me, the Grand Prix looks just a tad nicer than the Cougar but not enough to beat out the gorgeous interior of the Mercury. So, it's Cougar, GP, then Charger.

@brush my first new vehicle was a red Ford F250 which I traded in my 73 Cougar for. 👍👍

Not interested in any of these models. They're too big for me and gas guzzlers.

If I HAD to have one I'd choose the Pontiac followed by Mercury. I'd give the Dodge away.

In '76 I had an Opel Kadette. The engine went bust so I replaced it with a good used one. I gave it to one of my brothers as I found a used very low mileage  '76 VW Scirocco.

I liked not going broke with gas prices the way they were. I was only 3yrs into my post office job so $ was good but not great.

Not my size or era but of this trio, the Mercury Cougar looks the best and the Pontiac second.

Pontiac first, Dodge second, but as others have said, the years after 1972 we're decidedly down hill.

Admittedly, I was NOT a fan of the long, long airport landing strip hoods of the mid-seventies cars.  These three are no exception.  However, not wanting to vote a tie, and after much deliberation, I vote this way: 1) Grand Prix  2) Cougar  3) Charger.  Being completely honest though, I'd have no problem walking right past all of them at a car show.  HOWEVER...I LOVE THE PHOTOS!!!
