Buick has never been on my favourites list. These two while overlarge do look quite well designed. I can't say that one is better than the other.

I, too, agree with David & Bob. Although neither are favorites, I chose the '62. To my eye, the '61 looks too much like a larger version of the 1965 Ford Falcon from the side; especially front.

I like the styling of the '61 much more.  The nose design is the difference for me; the tail end of both cars looks great.

My decision also, the '61. Jack stated his reasons perfectly.

Tie. IMO one is overstyled, the other understyled. They even out on the scales.

OMG!  It's the "nose design" of the '61 that TURNS ME OFF!  Never could take the "pointy" fenders.  The '62 for me please!

I voted for the '62.

I remember very well going with my parents to the Buick dealer in late 1962 to put in a factory order for a '63 LeSabre 4-door Sedan. The salesman was pushing a leftover '62 LeSabre 4-door HARDTOP, in a metallic fawn gold color, with power brakes and a few other options that my Dad wasn't ordering, for the same price. My Dad went with his original plan and ordered the '63.

@perrone1 I never considered the resemblance between the Buick and Falcon before. Good point.

Thanks Steve!  And I agree with you that it's great that everybody's different.  If we were all the same, we wouldn't have anything to talk about.  Smile

The '61 Buick is gorgeous. I took my road test on my brother's '61 Buick back in the spring of 1961.
