This excellent comparison is so close that for me the body style of the car determines which year Buick I choose. With this flat top roof design I prefer the '60, as it presents as smaller overall and the added chrome trim suits it. In any other body style I would have chosen the '59.
Fifty-Nine. The height of automotive OTT (Over The Top) '50's styling.
The '59 was outrageously bold and I liked the way they carried the front "gull wing" (bat wing?) look right through to the rear, making a very coherent styling theme. The toned-down 1960 may be "subtler" in some ways but looks timid by comparison and the lower body bulges don't help. '59 for me.

I got a concussion hitting my head while getting in the back seat of that 59. Just too low. I have hard (headed) feeling about both these Buicks.
The more sinister 59 for me. 👹

'59 for me. I think Frank Reed hit the nail on the head with the word "sinister" to describe its look!

59 for me. If you are going to go all out, go all out. I also like the 60 and wouldn't push it out of my garage.
I really like both of these cars. I'm going with the '60 because '59 was the year that Buick left off the ventiports. I mean those were a hallmark of modern Buick design; to market a Buick without them was a curious choice.
Both are "Black Beauties"! I like both, but of the two, the FIFTY-NINE gets my vote today. I've said many times that the GM '59 line-up of cars to my eyes is one of the most nicely styled of the decade. Moving to the '60 Buick, it is in my opinion, the only '60 from GM that looked good. The other four brands were robbed of all their styling.

The '60 gets my vote. Tough decision though. Thank you John !
I'm afraid I do not like either model of this Buick.

They were left off the '58s, too.
You guys are good...I learned something new today!
