The Wildcat as pictured was the best-proportioned of the big Buicks and wins it for me today. What a beauty!

In order from GM for '65:

Buick

Pontiac

Cadillac

Chevrolet

Oldsmobile

For me the Chevrolet, always one of my favorites.  Then the Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick Oldsmobile.

Pontiac and Buick a first-place tie for me. with the Olds trailing a little bit behind. Chevy was pleasant enough but a bit "soft", I preferred the '67 when they sharpened up the looks a little. The Cadillac styling does nothing for me.

Chevy Impala over Pontiac by a hair margin, so close it could change tomorrow for me.

Chevrolet

Pontiac

Buick

Cadillac

Oldsmobile

George; It seems to me that my Oldsmobile perspective was forever swayed by the gorgeous '62 Starfire HT; nothing that came from the Olds division in the years that followed could compare.  Similar feeling regarding the '61 Pontiac; although the '63 and '65 came very close.

To my eye, of all the incredible rightness of the '65s, the Chevy was the most right.

@jkuvakas I agree that 1965 was a landmark year for American car design; they sure got it right...and with such diversity!  I feel the same about 1955.

What Tony said. Pontiac in ‘65 was pure power and class, and the 8 lug wheels really sent it over the top!
