#1 Ford always liked this one maybe coz cousins had a ranch wagon.

#2 Edsel for sentimental reasons.

#3 Mercury it’s okay

#4 Lincoln those slanted bugs eyes weird me out

Fifty-Eight. The year the industry went from 2 headlights to four. I was a heart-broke car lover. Ford was one of the most egregious. I vote a non-specific tie - all cars.

IMO 1958 isn't a good year for FoMoCo styling. I voted for the Mercury because it's the weirdest, but came close to voting no interest.

Actually I like all of them more today than years ago. Four way tie.

I picked the Merc, the front end looks soooo much better than the '57.💯🤑 But I do like all of them.😊

I never understood the appeal for them as well. It just looks odd. 🤔 JMHO though.😊

1) EDSEL  2) MERCURY  3) FORD  4) LINCOLN

The Edsel is new, unique, and innovative.  But was a car that wasn't given a chance to succeed, as the brain-thrusts behind were convinced it was dead on arrival.  Their own comments and negativity played a huge part in turning the public off on it.  It deserved a much better fate!

The Mercury wasn't a Ford clone, that in my opinion made it a nice choice for those that didn't want a Ford.  And it was a little softer on the eyes from the '57.  It looks rich!

And regarding the Ford, I really liked it and loved the four-taillight set-up.  To my eyes it was a very attractive car.

Then there was the (obviously) drug-induced styling of the Lincoln!  It to me was the goofiest looking of all '58s from the Big Three.  It's just butt-ugly from any angle it's looked at.

For me, Mercury, Ford, Edsel, then Lincoln. They are all quite acceptable vehicles for the time.

1958 & 1959 the years all of the big three styling was/is down right ugly. The only one I would have bought is the Thunderbird.

For today's comparison the only one that is even decent is the Ford Fairlane [no T-bird offered], the rest I have absolutely NO interest in.

Ford by a mile, then Edsel, Mercury and Lincoln.  Although the Ford wasn't as attractive as the previous several years I still liked the look of it.

I was five years old when these cars appeared, they scared me then and they still scare me now. I would have gone straight to the gorgeous T-Bird trying hard not to look at the others.

@kevins, Not to be picky, but I believe the T-Bird in your response is a '60.

In a past GM compare I had included a Corvette and some had an issue over something or another so with this go-round I did not include the T-Bird...maybe next time. As they say, "life is too short to worry about the small stuff."

I like them all, even the vehicles with kind of quirky design elements. I have replicas of each in various scales, although my Edsels are actually from a year earlier.
