Neither do much for me. Without the aluminum foil skirts, the 60 looks more comfortable in its era than does the 61 in its. But since I can't find myself favoring either, I, for the first time, must vote no interest. Good difficult choice material sir! Wink

I voted 1961. I like its over the top spaceship looks.

@ed-glorius I agree with you Ed. Looking toady at the Lexus lineup, it would appear that they like it as well since they use the grill on virtually every car they build today.

I find both designs disturbing but can accept the 1961 slightly more.

I have always been totally turned off by the 1960 Plymouth due to its overdone fins and unattractive grille and consider it to be the least attractive Plymouth ever made.  Originally I disliked the '61 (as a 9 year old kid/budding car freak) because it seemed just plain weird looking (grille, tail lights and interior in particular).  Let's face it, there is no way this radical design could measure up to the stunning GM lineup offered that year; Ford too for that matter.  I recent years however I have warmed up to its very unique design and now in fact quite like it for just that reason.  I feel the same way about the '62 Fury as well.

I'm with Jack on this one, I don't like the '60 Plymouth at all, so I voted for the '61.

Funny, though, I like all the other ChryCo lines for 1960!

Looking toady

I take this to be an understandable, Freudian typo.

How Chrysler went from a sublime line-up to a horror freak show in so few years never ceases to dumbfound me.  The rear end of the '61 is really nice but aft are the same tortured folds of steel and paint we see on the '60. So without further ado, I head for the 'recent posts' button.  Good choice for discussion though.

@charles-rockett typing error...toady was to be today. My proofreading skills match my typing skills.

I considered including the '62, a Plymouth favorite of mine, but I thought it would generate too much negativity for one post.

Totally dislike Plymouths 1957 to 1963, '64 they finally made a decent looking car.

No interest in either today.

@sizedoesmatter I began to warm up to the '62 Fury much earlier than the '61; back in the late 60s actually.  I recall that all my friends but one rolled their eyes in disagreement....but I liked it!  The one who concurred had a white '62 Fury Sport 2drht. with red interior....it was quite fast too.  I will say though that the Savoy with the single taillight was a version I did not care for.

@bob-jackman Yet toady is more apt, nevertheless.

@jack-dodds

I will respectfully disagree with you on the GM line-up for '61 being better looking than the Chrysler Corp. brands.  With the exception of the Chevrolet, there wasn't a GM '61 that I even care to stand next to.  Now in '62, that's a different story, GM regrouped nicely.

For me for the Plymouth for '61, it was always the grille that I loved, and ironically I remember there always being a lot of backlash to it in the day.  And as Mr. Jackman pointed out, Toyota and Lexus today seem to endear that Plymouth grille.

With regard to the '60 Plymouth, again I prefer it 100% to anything that both Ford and GM gave us that year.  To my eyes, Chrysler Corp. for 1960 and 61, they were the styling leaders.

For a Side note regarding the Plymouth '61, I was always bothered by the fact that plucking the fins completely off of it, it appeared that they forgot taillights and then in a last ditch effort pasted a couple of flashlights on the sides of the fenders.
