Pontiac was certainly hitting on all (8) cylinders for 1965 with these truly beautiful automobiles ! Right now, I have a couple of replica 1965 Pontiac GTO diecast models.

The early GTOs are by far my favorite of the '64 to '72 era that appeals to me.  The full size Pontiac for '65 is a gorgeous car that I have loved from the first moment I set eyes on it.  So for me it boils down to which car would make me happiest parked in my garage for daily use.  The nod goes to the GTO....but it's a paper thin edge.

I like the big stuff.  2+2 for me with those awesome 8 lug wheels.

I’m not much of a fan of big cars so GTO for me.

I voted GTO because I had a ‘65, but I’ve always had a yearning for a big, four speed 421 Cat!

I voted a tie. Catalina is one of the few cars in these polls I have driven. Drove it from Colorado to Missouri on secondary highway. Great ride.  The GTO would be great  weekend drive around town and Catalina for highway trips.

Awesome comparo John. I'm torn. I had the 64 GTO and though I loved it back then, the 65 too, I think I'd rather have the big boy Poncho today. So I'm voting tie.

They're both beautiful, but I like the size of the GTO better.

One of my uncles had a 65 Grand Prix.  That car had power and the interior was fantastic so I am sure the Catalina 2 + 2 was about same if not more.  I like the GTO even though a little square but GMC sporty cars were a little square.

Full-size Pontiacs I loved '61 - '64 and liked '57 - '60 but, '65 up I disliked the styling.

Mid-size Pontiacs I loved '65 - 67, '68 up I did not care for the styling.

The Catalina is the bigger, better car but personally I prefer the GTO.

Love both but it's the 421 Cat that wins me over.
