Chevy and Ford tied, my favorites of the period, Plymouth close third.

The '55 Chevy is my fave car of its class in that decade; Ford is a close second, with Plymouth right behind.  All of them are very nice cars.

Chevy. It's a revolution and it's pretty.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

PLYMOUTH!  I really like all three, but again, I look at the dashes of each one, and the Plymouth has the best one to my eyes.  Dashes are important to me in cars, as that is what I, the driver, sees the most of when owning and of course driving the car.  As for the ranking, mine goes 1) Plymouth  2) Chevy  3) Ford.  All three are beauties.

Each manufacturer sure had their own idea of what a dash should look like, didn't they?

This is a tough choice.  All three are appealing.  The 55 Chevy is my favorite out of the tri series in Chevy's.  The Ford with the paint scheme makes it looking like it is flying down the road while it is just sitting there, and the Plymouth with it's slanted nose gives it appeal as well.  But after all that I am going with the Ford, Chevy, Plymouth.

Chevy, Ford, Plymouth.  The Ford looses by it's dash, otherwise a tie. The '55 Chevy is the best Chevy of the '50's. While the best Ford of the '50's is the '56, better than the '55 by a dashboard.

Looking at the pics it is apparent the steering wheel on the '56 looks quite a bit better as well as the dash. 3 spoke over 2 spoke. Same thing I discovered with ownership the '66 Coronet is 2 spoke and the '67 is 3 spoke which I much prefer.

The Ford dash looks quite plain and less modern than the other two this year.  They improved it substantially in '56 though.

John B.; your comparison pics remind me of how strange I always thought it was that Ford took until 1958 to lose the pronounced headlight bezel feature.  I still love the '55 thru '57 Fords (especially the '56) but when you compare the three cars in your pics it really shows how much more modern the noses of the Chevy and Plymouth looked in those 3 years.

Jack, I always like the look of the headlight bezel feature, they didn't appear dated to me...go figure.
