Have to go with the Mercury although I like both.

I'm going with the Chrysler. I'd like the Mercury Park Lane more in a darker colour, but still not as much as the 300K.

Mercury, but not in that color or those white wall tires.  More like this:

CHRYSLER!  The Mercury has too many odd protrusions that distract.  However, I like the '64 Mercury much better than the next years '65 that looked like a box.  Back to that gorgeous CHRYSLER, it is much the same as the previous years '63 and I owned one.  To this day, of all the cars I've owned, that '63 was the most comfortable and smooth riding car I've ever driven.  It was luxury on wheels.

I think the Chrysler has aged better than the Merc.  I would have chosen the Merc back in the day so my tastes may have evolved as well.

I also think the Chrysler has aged better but always thought it to be handsome with its chiseled looks.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

When I read the topic, I immediately thought Mercury, but looking at the photos, I really like the overall look of the Chrysler much more. Going with the Chrysler 300.

I give the nod to the Mercury for its much better styling.  The color detracts from it big time (more a sedan color IMO) so I didn't consider that factor.  I was never a fan of the 63-4 Chrysler design.

Another thought-provoking comparo! I'm amazed at how you have refined this feature, and how challenging it can be, JB! I'm going with the Merc. But, by dinner time, I may change my mind!
