Although the Packard was a higher priced car I like the styling of the Nash much more; it gets the nod.

Both are attractive late 1940's automobiles from two of the independents of the era. Each looks good in it's convertible form.

Later, the possibilities of a Nash-Hudson-Studebaker-Packard grouping was discussed by various involved and interested parties.

Only a part of this grouping took place but the future could maybe have been a bit different....and quite interesting.

Yes Jack, base MSRP for the Nash was around $2,300 while the Packard was approximately $3,500. They were both attractive convertibles but with totally different designs.

The Nash still had that forties charm by 1948. But the Packard's 'inverted bathtub' look didn't really register until it's 1950 rendering. I'm voting 'charm' for this one - Nash!!

FANTASTIC comparison today John! Bravo sir!

I like the Nash.  I wish I had the Packard hood ornament.

I found myself liking the Packard more than I expected, but not enough to beat that handsome Nash.

I really like both of these. While I prefer the styling of the Hudson, when it comes to which I would prefer as my daily driver, I choose the Packard. Or on second thought......

NASH gets my vote.  It's lower and sleeker looking, while the Packard is bulbous and frumpy looking.  Not to mention very dated next to the Nash.

The Packard is nice but not as nice as the Nash.

Both interesting and both very different, I'd take either but prefer the Packard.

Nash, however that would change the following year. What were they thinking?
