1) PLYMOUTH 2) Chevy 3) Ford
The Plymouth has a nice comfortable look, but would be better in the maroon color of the other two. The Chevy's bulbous rear fenders disqualifies it for me and Ford's very odd "wider in the front and narrow in the back" look, has always been strange to me.

I love them all but give the nod to the more modern looking Ford (in spite of its apparent QC issues in '49) . The Chevy is a very close second and the Plymouth a respectable third...not far back.
They are all very attractive cars and I like them all. Although Ford seemed to have made advancements here with it's smooth envelope side and V-8 engine, they all look great. Soon enough each would also have the full enclosed sides and V-8 engines.
Ford (very cool taillights) Chevy, then Plymouth.

Ditto.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
1949 was a great year for this trio! I had more experience with the Chevy, but the Ford was most popular with my age group. The Plymouth seemed to have the best ride and handling. Based only on looks, I'll go with the Ford (but my first car was the very similar '51 Chevy).
Ford, Chevy, Plymouth. Not only looks put them in this order but so do the engines; V8, OHV 6, flat head 6.
Love them, but I rank them as Chevrolet, Ford and Plymouth.
