Pontiac by a hair over Mercury and Dodge third.  Very close.

I like all three but in order, Mercury, Dodge, then Pontiac. I would be happy to drive any of them.

That Dodge is sharp but the Pontiac looks a bit better to me.  Not liking the roof line of the Mercury convertible.

Mercury looks the best. It wins for me. Pontiac second.

MERCURY for me!  A little remembered trivia fact about the '49 Mercury convertible...

In the 1949 "BATMAN" movie serial, Bruce Wayne drove a '49 Mercury convertible.  Now here is the fun part...when Bruce had to change to BATMAN, he would put the top up and change in to his Bat uniform and then high tail it to the crime scene.

So one could say that the '49 Mercury was actually "The Batmobile".  Smile

THANKS John!  I have those movie serials and have always got a kick out of how the transformation from Bruce Wayne to Batman took place in the Mercury.

Mom and Dad bought a new '49 Dodge Wayfarer with a novel slightly-automatic transmission called "Fluid Drive".  It was primarily an ordinary three-on-the-tree operated with a clutch pedal. However as I understand it the driver had the ability to slow down for a suburban corner without needing the 3-2 downshift.  It must have been pretty rugged because Dad's younger sister happily   Inlove drove with it into the 60s. And hated her subsequent 3 speed Chevy   Sad !

Therefore my choice is Dodge with its Fluid Drive.
