I expected to vote for the Olds, but then I saw the photos. The Mercury is fantastic with all that wood against the black paint and the red around the wheels.. It wins. Both are good looking, though.

I too prefer the Mercury here. It looks far classier to me. I suspect that it was also mechanically superior to the Oldsmobile at this time period.

OLDSMOBILE for me.  If we were talking 2-Door Sedans, I'd vote Mercury, but in the wagon department, the Olds rocks.

I like the look of the Mercury. The color with more wood panels makes it stand out.

A good looking pair.  I prefer 4 doors (Make that 5 for wagons), but I still prefer the Mercury.

Love both but going with the Oldsmobile for the OHV V-8 and the Hydra-matic transmission.

Both are nice. The new Olds engine makes it new under the hood but the Mercury has the style IMO. Mercury.
