The Ford looks more modern than the Mercury to me.

Can’t argue with 1951 modern looking Ford.  I voted for it

Another NO-CONTEST for me today.  The MERCURY is a knockout compared to the Ford.

Back in the day acting cool...driving the hardtop with all the windows rolled down and great music coming from the front and rear speakers.

Lets not forget the pretty young thing snuggling up next to you (before bucket seats). Now that made concentrating on the road HARD...if you get my drift. Wink

I like both but prefer the lines of the Ford more.

Owned a '51 Ford hardtop back in '64 in Texas, I parked it in a field near Ft Wolters when we shipped out.  Ran great, no 2nd gear and the generator was dead, paint was faded. Never went back, wonder what happened to it.

A friend had a well used '51 Mercury in '59, what a tank/boat, didn't handle at all, too heavy.

'49 - '50 I liked the Mercury better, '51 much prefer the Ford.  Compared to the '49 - '50 Ford the 2 bullet grill, larger tail lights, and the hardtop, love it.

1 51 Ford Victoria

Mine looked like this one only the paint was faded. After all it was 13 years old

I own every Brooklin of the Ford. Love it and the castings.

My first car was a convertible...an 8 year old Valiant I bought in 1971 on my 16th birthday. I have fond memories of driving with the top down at night in the winter with the heater on full blast.

...gotta go with the hardtop.     '51 Fords were very nice looking - first year for hardtops & automatics!  😎 😎
