I pick Ford over Chevy by a narrow margin; although I much prefer the '49-'50 single bullet Ford grille.  The Ford styling is more modern with the slab sides and I prefer its V8 engine.

In the middle of transitional throes; the '49 - '51 "shoebox" Fords pointed the way to a new era of auto building. But the Chevy still maintained its carry-over pontoon fenders in the rear and kept that styling 'look' until the '55 model debuted.

As par for the course, you've done a great job, again, John. I think, today, I'm feeling nostalgic - Chevy for me.

Despite my nostalgia - I was brought home from the hospital in a 1951 Chevy, and we had it for seven years after - the Ford is so much more modern and handsome, it wins. I prefer the twin bullet grille, and have all but one of the Brooklins.

Ford, I owned one and loved it and beat the hell out of it. Abandoned it in a field when I went to war with no second gear or generator. Plate was on it but never heard a word about it, of course the address was of the unit that deployed???

Like the '51 - '52 Chevy styling but the Ford had the V8.  Didn't care for the '49 -'50 Fords but the '51 trim made it look much better to my liking.

Ford today.

Before looking at the pictures, I thought I'd be voting for the Ford. But that Chevy, although maybe not as modern looking, just looks better to me and won me over!

Both are good-looking automobiles. My Grandpa had a light green 1952 Ford Station wagon and my Dad had a 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air. They are probably among the first cars I vaguely remember riding in.

Going with the Chevrolet since we had a similar '49 back in the day.
