I have always wondered why Chryco chose to continue producing these two marques, given that they were so very similar, but I'm glad that they did.  I have to assume that their execs must have figured out that the cost of the minimal changes between the two generated a higher level of interest at the showroom and with resulting sales.  Personally I think there were more years post war that I like the look of the DeSoto more than the Chrysler; in particular  1955 through '59.
